NAtural disaster Emergency Preparation Plan
Natural Disasters are not typical conditions that people can usually expect. Although infrequent, they are events that can kill thousands of people and destroy buildings, bridges, and roads. Some examples of Natural Disasters and other Extreme Weather conditions include, but are not limited to:
- Tornadoes - Hurricanes - Wildfires
- Earthquakes - Tsunamis - Volcanic Eruptions
One of the goals of tracking changes in the weather is ensuring that people are prepared for these Natural Disasters and Extreme Weather Events. Preparation is key to ensuring that as many people as possible are safe when these storms pass through. If you were to experience one of the Natural Disasters listed above, what are the steps you would take ensure not only your safety, but also your survival in the period of time after the storm passes? What if you were without power, clean water, or dealing with freezing temperatures?
Your team's task is to create a poster that is both informative and can grab the reader's attention. You must include information about the type of Natural Disaster you are preparing to experience, what to do if you are caught in the storm, and how to get through the following time period. You should also try to include safety tips and what procedures to follow if you need to make a quick escape. Generate a list of supplies to keep handy (including bottled water, tarps, non-perishable food, and medical supplies to treat injuries you would experience because of that natural disaster).
